Silverstein is the culprit. We are all waiting for this tenant, but competition is tight. Part of me would've liked to seen 2 wtc rise 2nd, and 1 WTC rise first. I think we could of waited for this tower. Towers like 3 WTC and 7 WTC sucked up valuable tenants.
I would just liked to see 1 and 2 WTC at least rise first. The smaller ones could of waited. Downtown is incomplete without two large, looming twin towers. Foster's design from the right angle would have perpetuated that.
Granted if Silverstein could of forecasted Hudson Yards at the early times of the design stage, he might of thought differently, and see the risk. But thats just not good foresight on his part. Need to think to "X" "Y" "Z" not just "A" "B" "C". Especially in NY.
